Cooked Nearby

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2 July 2026

1. What Cooked Nearby is

Cooked Nearby is a directory that helps people discover independent home food makers near them. We are not a food business: we do not cook, sell, handle, or deliver any food, and we do not take payment for orders. Any order, payment, and delivery or collection is arranged directly between the buyer and the maker, off the platform.

2. Using the platform

You must be 18 or over to list food as a maker. You agree to provide accurate information and not to misuse the platform, post unlawful content, or impersonate others. We may suspend or remove any account or listing that breaches these terms.

3. Maker responsibilities

Makers are solely responsible for complying with all applicable UK law, including registering as a food business with their local authority, food hygiene and safety standards, and providing accurate allergen and ingredient information under Natasha's Law and related regulations. Makers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, prices, and availability, and for fulfilling orders they accept.

4. Buyer responsibilities

Buyers contact makers directly and are responsible for confirming details, including allergens and dietary requirements, before ordering. Cooked Nearby does not vet food quality and is not a party to any transaction between buyers and makers.

5. Reviews and content

Reviews must be honest and based on a genuine experience. We use phone verification to reduce fake reviews but do not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted content. By posting content (profiles, photos, reviews) you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform. You must own or have the rights to any content you upload.

6. No warranties & liability

The platform is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cooked Nearby is not liable for the acts of makers or buyers, the quality or safety of any food, or any loss arising from arrangements made between users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under law.

7. Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions? Contact us at hello@cookednearby.com.
